AI Prompt Engineering 101: Chat Bot

Live Instructor-Led Course

Tuesday, November 21, 2023

2 Hours

1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time  (starting 10:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM GMT)

In this three-part course, Prompt Engineering 101, students will learn the principles and best practices of prompt engineering, a cutting-edge style of engagement with AI large language models (LLMs), like ChatGPT. With a focus on both fundamental concepts and advanced techniques, students will develop the skills needed to craft effective prompts that elicit contextually relevant responses from chatbots and AI language models.

In covering concepts, techniques, and real-world applications, students will become proficient in designing effective and contextually relevant prompts.

The course includes hands-on exercises and case studies to reinforce learning and ensure proficiency in real-world applications.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the principles of prompt engineering and its importance in AI language models.
  • Design, evaluate, and iterate on prompts to optimize user experience and AI-generated content.
  • Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques to enhance creativity, control, and context management in AI responses.
  • Identify and address challenges associated with ambiguous inputs, uncertainty, and model limitations.
  • Assess the ethical considerations of AI-generated content and implement strategies to ensure fairness and unbiased results.
  • Leverage prompt engineering skills in a variety of real-world applications, including customer support, marketing, and collaborative content generation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • While not required, prior experience with chatbots, AI language models, or the GPT series of models will be advantageous. Students without a strong background in AI or NLP may need to dedicate additional time to reviewing supplemental materials provided by the instructor.
